Do you work from photos?
Yes! Emma works exclusively from photographs, and more often than not these will be photographs taken by you. Emma has created some helpful guides about how to select or take the perfect photo.
Can you combine photos?
Yes! Emma is able to put multiple subjects in one portrait, from different photos. Some photos are better suited than others, so the more options you can provide the better. Emma will create a digital mock-up of how this will look for you to approve before you confirm your order.
Do I get updates throughout the drawing process?
Yes! Emma will email you progress photos of your drawing as it comes together. Your drawing will also be documented as a time-lapse video which will be available to you upon completion of the portrait.
What sizes of drawing are available?
Emma draws commissions in any size ranging from 6”x4” all the way up to A0! Please note that the size of a portrait is the size of the visible paper of the drawing.
The total size of the drawing in it’s frame will be larger than the dimensions given. Emma can advise as to how large your portrait will be in its frame/mount.
Can I have professional prints of my portrait?
Yes! Emma can provide professional Giclée fine art prints in a variety of sizes. These make great gifts for family and friends. Prices for these start from £20.
Do you offer framing?
Yes! You can have your portrait professionally framed, if you desire. Framing prices for this start from £70. A precise cost for framing will be provided with your quote.
What is the wait time?
Get in touch to find out if there is currently a wait time. If you have a specific deadline, Emma can let you know if it can be met.
How do I pay?
Emma takes payment using a secure payment link through her website, through PayPal, or by BACS transfer.
Payment is required before any drawing begins. You will be provided with receipts for all payments.
What if I change my mind?
Once payment has been made, Emma will confirm that you are happy for her to start work on your portrait before drawing begins. Before work has begun Emma is able to give you a full refund! If you change your mind after drawing has begun, Emma is able to give you a partial refund, depending on how much time has been spent on the drawing.
Emma is not able to accept returns. However, if you are unhappy with your portrait for any reason she will work with you until you are happy with the end result!
What if I don’t like the finished drawing?
Emma will work with you from the very beginning of the commission process. Together, you’ll start by choosing the perfect photo. If you like the photo then you’ll love the finished portrait. Emma sends regular photo updates throughout the drawing process so you can watch your commission come to life. She also sends you an image of your portrait before it’s dispatched to ensure you love it
Because the commissioning process involves regular updates from Emma, you can be confident throughout that you will be thrilled with the end result!
How long will my portrait take to arrive?
Depending on the size of your portrait it can take anywhere between a few days to a few weeks to complete. Postage typically takes 2-4 days within the UK and 5-15 days worldwide. There may also be a waiting time depending on how busy Emma is. Emma always provides an estimated completion date before confirming your order. If you have a deadline, Emma will do her utmost to meet it. If it cannot be met, you can purchase a gift certificate that can be sent out immediately – ask Emma for details.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! Emma ships her portraits all over the world. Please get in touch for a specific quote to post to your address.
Will my drawing appear online anywhere?
Emma loves to keep her digital portfolio up-to-date as this is a great way for her to showcase her work. Of course, if you are commissioning your portrait as a gift and would like to keep it a secret, Emma is happy to hold off sharing the portrait until after you have given the gift – just let her know beforehand! If for any other reason you would not like your drawing to appear online, please let Emma know in advance.
